Fall 2011 Group Fitness Schedule

All of our classes are multi-level, which means anyone at any fitness level can participate. Our awesome music, passionate instructors and top notch programming will inspire an exhilarating, fun and effective workout for you!

SUMMIT Health & Fitness Club provides the largest group fitness schedule in the region. Our group fitness accommodates 15 types of classes:

WALKfit: Join Farhana for a great outdoor fitness walk along our bike path then finish with a fresh air stretch. Great for all fitness levels and walking ability. There's nothing like getting outdoor with friends for a fresh air workout!

STEP 1 - Join our instructors as they guide you through a fun and motivating step class that is perfect for first time steppers or those experienced steppers looking for a basic approach. The goal for this workout is to be able to work at your own pace and HAVE FUN! The perfect workout to help you wind down from work and give you the boost you need before going home or back to work. It's quick and to the point. Level 1

STEP 2 - This is the ultimate step workout! Step experience is a + if you want to participate in this exciting class. This extended cardio workout is guaranteed to do one thing to the max: burn calories & fat. Our Instructors will take you from simple steps to advanced steps using propulsion moves and innovative, creative combinations. This workout doesn't slow down until the well deserved stretch! Level 2 only, not ideal for new and inexperienced steppers. If you are new to step try Step 1 classes.

STEP INTERVAL - A great combination of cardio and toning. Burn calories and tone up all in one class. This class is great for all levels of fitness. You do not need step experience to enjoy this workout. Level 1

PILATES 1 - If you are new to Pilates or like a modified simple approach this class is for you. You will learn the basic fundamentals of Pilates: Pilates Primer, The Pilates Pillar and the Pilates Press Points. Our Pilates Certified instructors follow the East to West Pilates Basic and Basic Modified programs. This class will prepare your body for Pilates 11. Our East To West Pilates classes emphasis breathing while strengthening your back and abdominal muscles - the "core muscles" that support the rest of your body.

PILATES 11 - This is an intermediate East To West Pilates class. This class is a progression of Pilates 1. Pilates 1 training is required before attending any Pilates 11 classes.

PILATES PLUS - Let Marilyn and Carrie introduce you to the wonders of Pilates. Marilyn combines the best of Pilates with the very best of body toning to give you the best body ever! Don't miss this all in one workout! Level 1

50+ PILATES: - Are you over 50 and looking to strengthen your abs, back and body. This Pilates class is a gentle class designed for any age, body types and fitness levels offering a comfortable and progressive way through Pilates. Deb follows the East To West Basic Matt Pilates class. Level 1

ULTIMATE HI/LO - This is an excellent cardio class! Burn calories and fat with this fun non-stop action. Marilyn will keep you energized and motivated with ultimate Hi/Lo choreography. Both Hi impact & Lo impact movements are always demonstrated to guide you through your preferred choice workout. You can get high with jumps, hops & jogs or stay low with steps & marches. This class concludes a total body toning section to hit all those stubborn spots. You'll love this class! Level 2

FOREVER FIT - (Low & Step) It's never too late to improve your health, fitness, flexibility, strength and cardiovascular health. This class is easy - to - follow with an emphasis on FUN! Strictly Lo impact… absolutely no jumping or other vigorous activity. The group is friendly and welcoming. Marilyn & Debbie are very encouraging, inspirational and motivating. Each class is safe for all participants regardless of fitness level & special needs. This class is carefully designed for people with arthritis, osteoporosis, weak backs & other special needs. Level 1

CARDIO COMBO - A step class with a new twist. A combination of step & low impact . Join Carrie for this energetic yet simple to follow class that hits all the right spots. Carrie's wonderful cuing and energy will keep you coming back for more. Whether you are a beginner or someone looking for just a bit more, this class is for you! Level 1

YOGA - Kim teaches basic and easy-to-follow yoga poses with lots of careful instruction. You'll get the flexibility & relaxation benefits of yoga without the intimidating attitude. The emphasis is always on enjoying the moves, not perfecting each pose. This class is ideal for first timers and experienced yoga enthusiasts as you explore poses like cat, mountain, cobra, child. Let Kim offer you the most relaxing experience in a quiet setting and relaxing music. Level 1

YOGA ON THE BALL - Take Yoga onto the Ball every Friday morning at 9:45 with Deb. This class is great for those who are seeking out a less intense, modified yoga experience. Level 1

FLEX IT - FOR WOMEN ONLY! Get the muscle definition you've always wanted! Get pumped and get toned in this 60 minute power packed pumped workout. Level 1

THE COMPLETE MIX - Our best workout! This class offers it all combining step, pilates, ball, weights and yoga. A 90 minute full body workout. Level 2

KID FIT - This workout is designed with our youth in mind. Trisha leads a dynamic class filled with fitness fun for kids from 8 - 13 years of age. This workout will combine everything from circuit training, step, boot camp, cardio kickboxing, weights, balls, and so much more! Great for all levels of fitness. Non-competitive atmosphere where the focus is on FUN & FITNESS!

CARDIO KICKBOXING - This ain't no dance class! Kick, jab and jump your way to fitness in this total body workout. Karrie kicks it into high gear with an easy to follow routine that you can jump into anytime. Level 1

HARD CORE ABS - Strengthen and define your abs, back and waist. Everyone can manage and benefit from this class.

IMPORTANT! stepping is a new skill... so be patient, be persistent and you will find that once you learn how to step you will truly enjoy this exciting way to stay in shape. It may take a few weeks to feel comfortable so give yourself time. PLEASE SHOW UP at least 10 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED CLASS & Let your instructor know before the class that it is your first time.
